Shiratori reportedly handed himself in two years later, when one of his acquaintances was arrested. Even though the guards woke him, he lay there despondently. He came to know that the patrol was about a 15-minute break. Shiratori inexplicably decided to confess his true identity to the police officer, and went back to court. The court denied his request , instead , they sent him to Abashiri Prison . A few years later, he tied the knot and had a child, but was soon in financial trouble.
